How to Add a Star Rating Field to Your WhatsApp Feedback Form

A simple 5-star rating field gets more honest, faster feedback than a paragraph box. Here's how to add one to your WhatsApp form and build a real feedback loop.

Why a Star Rating Beats an Empty Text Box

Ask a customer to "write your feedback" and most will skip it — it takes effort to think of what to say. Ask them to tap a star rating, and it takes two seconds. Lower effort means more people actually respond, and a 1–5 star answer is also something you can track and average over time, unlike free text.

WhatsLead's Rating field adds a simple 5-star selector to any form.

How to Add It

  • Open your form builder → Basic tab
  • Drag in the Rating field
  • Label it clearly — e.g. "How was your experience with us?"
  • Publish
  • Building a Complete Feedback Form

A rating field alone tells you *how* someone feels. Pair it with a couple more fields to learn *why*:

  • Rating — "How would you rate your experience?"
  • Yes/No — "Would you recommend us to a friend?"
  • Paragraph (optional) — "Anything we could improve?"
  • Name / Phone (optional) — only if you want to follow up on low scores personally
  • This four-field combo takes under 30 seconds to fill, and gives you both a trackable number and real context.

What to Do With the Data

  • Reply personally to low ratings — a fast, caring response to a 2-star review often turns into a saved customer relationship
  • Screenshot high ratings for social proof — with permission, use them in your Instagram Stories or website
  • Track average rating over time — on the Pro plan, your dashboard keeps every response, so you can spot trends across weeks or months rather than judging from a handful of recent comments
  • Where to Send the Feedback Form

Share it right after service delivery — end of an appointment, after order pickup, or a day after a service visit — while the experience is still fresh.
